Historical
Riccarton House Re-Opening Cocktail Party
I was one of the invited guests at Riccarton House last
evening, where a major renovation has taken place recently. Dame Tizzard
did the re-opening of Riccarton House. The grounds are well manicured
and the house has been restored to its former glory.
I strongly recommend that you take your family and friends there, either
for guided tours or to book your meal there including Christmas dinner !
You will be missing a very important part of history, art and the fact
that the famous Deans Bush is right next door (you would need
comfortable shoes). There is simply no other place in Christchurch with
such setting as river running in front of the historical house, the
acreage virtually within Christchurch city boundary ( you can actually
see and hear fan tails and other birds and the smell of bush
........ well you really have to experience it to understand ).
Four generations of Dean's family.
Lady Salsa attracts packed houses two nights
in a
row at Christchurch Town Hall- Don't miss this
show
It is hard to believe
that a 70 year old lady can be so active not to mention the amount of
pleasure she has given over the years dating back to war days.
It's
got everything you need for a wild night out , high energy dancing that
takes your breath away ,hot Cuban beats from a great Salsa band and some
most gorgeous dancers you would ever dream of seeing.

The Women's Lifestyle Expo is the original Expo for

Daniel
O'Donnell
Daniel, of course is a great Irish singer and sang many of his own songs
as well as other singers' like Neil Diamond and does it so well. Even
after 4 hours, the audience did not seem to have enough of the wonderful
duo....I had great pleasure in meeting Daniel's fiancee, Majella and
what a delightful person she is
too !
Gene
Pitney
The crowd just loved Mr Pitney the moment he came on stage. Hit
song after hit song-Twenty four hours from Tulsa, Something's gotten
hold of my heart......then to some of the songs he wrote which
other people sang....... Well, I am not the one to tell you too
much-you'll have to go and check it out yourself ! All I can say is that
you won't be disappointed.
Check out Gene Pitney's tour dates

Bill
Sevesi and David Lingham
I met one of the most amazing and talented Billy Sevesi (78yrs old) who
has composed 200 songs, has over 20 LPs to his credit, was the
first to record Yandall Sisters and singer Annie Crummer when she was an
unknown 16 yr old. He was awarded QSM for his life long contribution to
music. And backed wonderful artists like Gene Pitney,
Everly Brothers & Clarence "Frogman" Henry.
Long
White Clouds is one of songs.
I felt like a princess as his invited guest but due to other commitments
,I left early - much to my regret that I missed out on his
speech about me with TV 1 doing the coverage. (Whatever you
said, I hope it was all good, Bill!).
Kevin
Kennedy, Gray Barlett, Brendon Dugan and Jodi Vaughan
All The Best- Coronation Street star, Kevin Kennedy (Curly
Watts) joins our Kiwi trio-Gray Bartlett, (renown guitarist) Brendon
Dugan & Jodi Voughan (both Country singers). Very successful New
Zealand tour. (I did not know that Kevin could sing so well,

when I learnt who they were - of course I did my usual ambassadorial
routine - taking them to radio, television stations as well The Press
for more publicity. Naturally, they proved very popular in Hokitika
talk-back shows ringing hot as
Surfin'

Help Me
Rhonda.
They loved New
Zealand so much that they decided to come back with two of their friends:

My Favourite
girls- Beth & Hanna
Beth & Hanna & Sharon
I had
great pleasure in introducing two of Barbershop - Backchat girls - Beth
Campbell & Hanna Calder and former Beach Boys, Jeffery
Foskett & Billy Hinsche as The Beach Boys & Surfer Girls
on television - this of course was the World's first announcement.
The former Backchat vocalists are from Cashmere High School in
Christchurch, New Zealand also were support singers for Jeffery &
Bill last year (Hokitika)
and the boys were so impressed, they invited them to perform at Carl
Wilson Benefit Concert in Santa Monica last year. And as I imagined it,
the girls were named the world champions at Sweet Adelines
International Rising Star Barbershop Contest in Texas. This December
will see the foursome - (Jeffery, Billy, Beth & Hanna) feature an
album
:Do You Know What I Know.

Don
Estelle (Lofty)
Don is renown for "Lofty" in popular

Stella
Boh Runga (best female vocalist and song writer of
the year) along with Andrew Maclaren (drums), Chris Van de Geer (guitar)

Christchurch, of course!). 5 top 20 singles in one year and boasting of
3 sold out national tours !!
The band Stella performed at Westpactrust Centre last summer along with
country other top bands. Violent

Little

Their trip to New Zealand was memorable as
they dedicated the song

hit song. The band currently has Stephen Housden, Wayne Nelson, Glenn
Reither, Greg Hind and Kevin Murphy. As you can see, they are fun
loving team!
