AUTISM AWARENESS WEEK JUNE 3 -JUNE 10
Autism Awareness Week is coming up from June the 3rd
to the 10th and our 2006 annual appeal is focused on an
exciting new interactive activity. We are asking people
what their ‘Dream Come True’ is and asking them to
help us make our dream of ‘understanding the autism
puzzle’come true. By making a donation of $2 or more,
shoppers can write down their dream and place it on
our ‘dream wall’. With the help of our sponsors we
will make one of those dreams come true for someone in our local
area.
The dream wall is to be set up at three major shopping malls
in the
Autism Awareness Week, Thursday the 8th and
Friday the 9th of June. The dream wall will be staffed
by volunteers for the entirety of the mall opening hours.
Our volunteers will have identification and will hand
out our balloons and thank you stickers. It is
envisaged that volunteers will help us with our fundraising
activity for a two hour time slot. Sometimes, if someone is
only able to help for an hour, this is much appreciated.
We always rely on our parent database for volunteer support
during Awareness Week, but as this is a new and exciting
initiative, we would like to ensure that we have enough
helpers for the two days, and are therefore requesting
your help to ensure the success of this venture.
I am happy to contact someone over the phone to
discuss this further. I look forward to hearing from you.
