- Tim played the role of the Phantom of the Opera in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera
(at the age of 29) – rumoured to be the youngest ever to play the role

Tim has a 100% success rate in test match anthems – Has sung six national anthems for the All Blacks – for six victories (although he says he obviously cannot claim credit…)

-Tim was voted by the BBC Voice of Musical Theatre as one of the top voices in the world in two successive events

- Tim recorded his debut album with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and legendary arranger Russell Garcia who is the same guy who used to arrange for Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald (Russ lives in Kerikeri and is going strong at 91 years)

- Tim travelled with Russ to Hollywood to record Come Rain Come Shine with the Buddy Childers Big Band who have the credit of having worked with Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald etc etc
_ Tim recently completed Live in Concert Album with Russ Garcia and the Auckland Neophonic Jazz Orchestra recorded live at the Auckland Town Hall in late 2006.

- Tim directed The Ultimate Vegas Experience for 40,000 people in his home town of Rotorua adopting the name Rotovegas for the night.

- Tim has his own 9 or 17 piece Neophonic Big Band (The Neophonic Jazz Orchestra) featuring NZ’s premiere musicians
Has his pilots licence – just had to add that…

- As he heads to Christchurch, Canterbrians may not realise that this Rotorua boy’s gorgeous wife is from Christchurch!
So go Canterbrians!! Support Tim & Tina this Sunday 14 February at Halswell Quarry and also help save the natureland!

A World First For 72 Hours-New Zealand Limted Ink Exhibition-
26-28 November- Proceeds to the Samoan tsunami relief fund.

New Zealand’s artist, Anneke Stewart and Melissa Sharplin launched New Zealand Limited Ink Art exhibition at Sol Square this evening.

Retrospective sensual art and holographic photo works were featured in the pre-Christmas New Zealand Limited Ink Art exhibition at Sol Square in Christchurch next week.

The three day exhibition open from November 26 and feature works by Melissa Sharplin and Anneke Stewart who have both exhibited in the UK and Europe.

Sharplin’s exhibition works span last 14 years and consist of originals, limited edition prints and boxes.

The exhibition will show nearly all of Sharplin’s work over the years, from pop art and drawings, through to her most recent and popular retro nude series.

Sharplin’s Melissa’s works hint of exaggerated beauty. One of her pieces sold at a charity auction for Linwood High School’s trip to China earlier this year for $12,000.

I like to enhance what I perceive beautiful and I am inspired by images from ‘girlie’ and fashion magazines over the decades. My pop collection gives a taste of work that shows my more vibrant side,’’ Sharplin said.

Stewart, from Wanaka, will be showing digitally reproduced prints that are highlighting the best works of her last few years of commissioned and exhibited art.

“My work in this show is mainly photographic and motion print imaging work on wood or light boxes,’’ Stewart said. “I am fascinated by the fact that each viewer responds or is attracted to different individual light energy paintings.’’

A multidimensional artist, Stewart’s artwork incorporates painting, sculpture, spray-painting, ink drawing, text, photography and lenticular imaging, an animated two- dimensional art form. Her work for this exhibition is multidimensional and interactive.

For the last six years Anneke has been the official backstage photographer for NZ Fashion Week!

I have already been to one of her exhibtions last year. What a talented young person!

Be sure to join in at SOL Square this Friday and Saturday.

Over the past month Mitre 10 Mega stores across the country have been holding a series of DIY Ladies Nights that has raised over $100,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Trust.

Attracting over 7,000 participants, the Ladies Nights featured both interactive projects to enhance DIY skills and information about how New Zealanders can “Build A Cure” for breast cancer.

Activities such as raffles, auctions, Mitre 10 staff getting their heads shaved, games and special sale items all took place to raise money to literally help build a cure for breast cancer – currently affecting 1 in 8 New Zealand women.

Paula Arblaster, Brand Manager of Mitre 10 New Zealand, said that each Ladies Night was unique to the local community where each store owner is based. “Every Mitre 10 MEGA store has had someone affected by this disease and along with the education and fundraising, many people and VIP guests also shared their personal experiences”.

A few of the stores were fortunate to have celebrity guests such as Petra Bagust, Trelise Cooper, Karen Walker and Carol Hirschfeld; each an Ambassador for the Breast Cancer Research Trust and each talking about the impact of the disease.

The Mitre 10 MEGA store in Poland Road Glenfield took out the national store prize for the best fundraiser, raising over $26,000 with two events. A Rocky Horror Picture Show theme allowed store staff to show off their amateur theatrics experience.

The Breast Cancer Research Trust is New Zealand’s only not-for-profit organisation established solely to fund research into a cure for breast cancer.

Phillipa Green, Marketing Manager for BCRT comments, “We are amazed at the level of effort each store put in and the total raised is just astounding.”

“These funds will go a long way to help the Trust reach it’s ultimate goal; to raise enough money to find a cure for breast cancer by 2018.’
